Are you looking for ways to get involved?  The Opstad PTA depends on volunteers for its many activities. Some jobs are big and some are small, but all are important! Its also a great way to keep in contact with the school, teachers, and students.

Or, do you have more money than time? The PTA spends $60,000 annually in programs and grants supporting our kids at school, and another $35,000 in events that break even by bringing in $35,000. All this money must come from donations, primarily from Walk-a-thon, so please help enhance your child's experience by donating. Ask your friends and relatives too, anyone can donate online by clicking the button on the left!  "No one can do everything, but everyone can do something"

How to volunteer:

Please view the forms below and see what looks like fun to you. And if you've got an idea for something new, we would love to hear about it! Email us at opstadpta@yahoo.com.

To volunteer you can send us email at opstadpta@yahoo.com and please include: your name, your email address, your phone number, and what you are volunteering for. Or you can print the sign-up form above and return it to the PTA at school.

During the school year we will occasionally post emails requesting volunteers for specific events if we don't have enough already signed up. Please read these requests and consider helping out.

 

Do you have some time to volunteer?

Opstad PTA is trying to fill some key positions, email us for more detailed descriptions or information.

  1. Teacher Appreciation Chair - lunches in fall and/or spring
  2. Music Concerts DVD coordinator
  3. Math Adventures Club Chair: The PTA and the school would like to have more support for students interested in math, and for students needing help in math. Help us start this new program!
  4. Bingo Night Leads: One or two people to head up this fun event in late March.
  5. Event Fundraising Chair: coordinate fundraisers like food sales, raffles, art auctions that take place at various events (does not include Walk-A-Thon).

Yearbook Photographers Wanted!

Do you volunteer in classrooms? Do you attend school events, plays, etc.? Do you go on class field trips? Do you visit school often? We need your help in taking photos of our fabulous kids in action for the 2008-2009 Opstad Yearbook!

Take photos and send them to the editor in the following ways:

  1. Burn photos to disc and drop off to PTA Yearbook box in office
  2. Send via email to opstadpta@yahoo.com
  3. Drop off developed pictures to PTA Yearbook box in office
  4. Upload to your favorite photo side (i.e. Snapfish, Shutterfly, Costco, etc.) and share the folder with the yearbook editor.

WatchDOGS Information

What is Watch D.O.G.S.? It's an exciting new initiative that helps dads/father figures become more involved in the schools. It allows dad to spend a day or half day helping, watch, playing, and connecting to Opstad students while sharing time with their child/children! Check it out the news video on King 5 News .

District Disclosure Form

All volunteers on the school property need a clearance from the district. You will need to fill out a disclosure form and return it to the school office, where your picture will be taken and after processing you will be given a badge. Download volunteer disclosure form
