General Meeting Tuesday, Nov. 18, 6:30-8:00 PM
Back by popular demand: Pizza! And of course the popular Y-care playtime for the kids.
Please enjoy some pizza while we cover our agenda topics, including Mr. Jester presenting WASL scores and the School Improvement Plan, and a demonstration of the ActivBoards teaching tools in nearly all our classrooms. We will also be voting on several budget items, so be sure to attend. Kids will have pizza and Y-care playtime in the multipurpose room, parents will have pizza during the meeting in the Library. Pizza and meeting starts at 6:30.

Funding Crisis
Presentations sponsored by the District and the Snoqualmie Valley PTSA Council in the past week have illustrated some of the issues facing our schools. Please view the slides at the district site. The issues have reached a crisis level, and you can help by letting legislators know how you feel. Learn more about what the PTA is doing from this document from the Washington State PTA. You can also learn more at http://www.wastatepta.org/leg/funding.htm

Volunteers
Still Needed for Staff Lunches
-
Teacher conference days lunches, Nov. 21-26 - every year the PTA provides lunches for our hardworking teachers during the conference days. Can you help? Here's how:
-
Provide 1 dish to serve 15 (entree, salad, or dessert) on 1 day (Friday, Monday, or Tuesday). Really like to cook? You can sign up for more!
-
Can't cook? You can help with set up or clean up on any of the 4 days (F, M, T, W)
-
Wednesday is leftover day, so if you bring a dish try to leave the leftovers in the fridge at school.
-
Email us to sign up at opstadpta@yahoo.com .

Do
you have some time to volunteer?
Walk-A-Thon is over, kids are in the routine of school, and many fall sports are ending. Do you have some time to volunteer with the PTA? We've got lots of possibilities open as we gear up for winter events. Email us at opstadpta@yahoo.com for more info or to volunteer. Here are some key positions:
- Math Adventures Club Chair: The PTA and the school would like to have more support for students interested in math, and for students needing help in math. Help us start this new program!
- Bingo Night Leads: One or two people to head up this fun event in late March
- Event Fundraising Chair: coordinate fundraisers like food sales, raffles, art auctions that take place at various events (does not include Walk-A-Thon).
- Yearbook Photographers: Click "Volunteering" to learn how to submit photos. Anyone can do it!
